Turnout: This is Hungary's first election to the European Parliament. In the 2002 national parliamentary elections, turnout was 70.5 per cent in the first round and 73.5 per cent in the second.
With the opposition trying to turn the poll into a referendum on the government, turnout may be similar, though perhaps below the 70 per cent threshold.
