The Holiday World Experience comes to the RDS in Dublin this weekend in a bid to let people know that there are better places to be than Ireland in January and to . . . er, sell holidays.

But it's not all just about the excitement of sun, sand, sea and cervezas. The Holiday World Experience will promote equally exciting caravan and camping holidays for those who eschew the luxuries of private bathrooms with state-of-the-art jacuzzis, room service and having their meals handed to them on a plate made of china.

The caravan part of the show promises "the latest in 'hotel' standard holiday homes, motor & touring caravans".

Another place to avoid if not attending the event this weekend is the Point Depot area of Dublin on Sunday. The Cheerios Childline Concert gets under way at 8 p.m. Congestion is usually bad in and around the Point at concert time, so avoid the area if at all possible.
