BRUSSELS - The British Agriculture Minister, Mr Douglas Hogg, is facing new pressure to attend a European Parliament inquiry into BSE. MEPs probing the handling of the BSE crisis are furious that Mr Hogg snubbed a committee hearing in Brussels earlier this week, instead sending a senior civil servant from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, who described the problem as largely "an act of God".
