Japanese electronics conglomerate Hitachi Ltd said on Friday it planned to cut fixed costs by 200 billion yen ($2.2 billion) by end of the next business year starting April 2009.
Hitachi also said it would reduce the number of its subsidiaries to 700 from 910 by March 2010 and cut up to7,000 jobs.
