A hit-and-run incident in north Belfast is being treated as attempted murder by the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

The victim, who is in his early 20s is seriously injured in hospital after he was struck by a car that mounted the pavement on North Queen Street at 10 p.m. yesterday.

A PSNI spokesperson appealed for information on the movement of a dark coloured Seat Toledo car found abandoned at Victoria Parade on the New Lodge Road which they believe may be connected with the incident.
