Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?
I do weight training about four days a week, and try and fit in a run if I can. I hate cardio, though, as I find it so boring, but you have to do it. About a year ago, a friend put me on to a personal trainer called Chris. I’ve never loved and hated any man so much, but he’s brilliant and I’m in awe of how if you do as he says he can really transform your training and body. I try and fit in a few sessions with him each month just to add to my own training. Cut out your cigarettes and/or drink for a week and spend the money on a good personal trainer. Trust me – training and seeing results can be more addictive than anything made by Benson Hedges.
Do you get your five a day?
Yeah, shockingly I do. My missus is extremely healthy, and a great cook, so that’s down to her. Otherwise, I think it would be takeouts most nights. I love a bit of fruit and veg anyway.
Do you worry?
I’ve never been a worrier, really. We just had a little girl, Hanna, a few weeks ago, so even when I feel a little stressed or anxious, one look at her and everything melts away. I highly recommend it, but find your own little girl – Hanna’s mine.
What do you do to relax?
We have five kids in our house, so relaxing can be difficult, but I find spending time with them and my missus helps me switch off. I have a study with a big screen TV, a PlayStation 3 and Blu-ray movies. If I want to escape, I jump in the lazyboy and hang there.
What’s your unhealthiest habit?
That would have to be smoking, even though I’m off them at the moment. It’s only when you’re off them a month you see how different everything tastes and smells, and even your breathing and energy levels change so much. No one mentions what it does to your love life either. Blood flows round your body better so – well, you get the picture.
