Add some resistance to your workout

If the phrase “strength training” conjures up images of muscle-bound folk hauling massive weights, think again. You can keep those muscles in good shape by including some simple but effective resistance work in your workout, and it could help you to be leaner and healthier as you get older.

If you are in a gym, ask for advice on what weights to work with and how to build reps. If you are at home and you don’t have weights, use your own body as resistance in exercises such as squats, and invest in a resistance band or tubing for a workout that won’t break the bank.
