Grenade in Kildare made safe by Army

An Army bomb disposal team made safe a second World War grenade found in Newbridge, Co Kildare, on Saturday afternoon.

An Army bomb disposal team made safe a second World War grenade found in Newbridge, Co Kildare, on Saturday afternoon.

The Defence Forces sent a team to an address in Roseberry, Newbridge, in response to a request by the gardaí.

The team arrived on scene at 1.30pm and examined the grenade, which was found in debris in an old garden shed.

The device was made safe and removed for destruction, and the scene was declared safe at 2.10pm.
