Portsmouth manager Avram Grant has pledged his future to the club, despite being linked with Hull.
The Tigers, second-bottom of the Premier League, just above Pompey, are looking for a new manager after parting company with Phil Brown on Monday.
Grant emerged as one of the early favourites for the post at the KC Stadium but, speaking after Pompey's 4-1 defeat at Liverpool, he said he would be staying.
"I thought about leaving in January but I saw the supporters and said, 'No I can't do it.'
"I stayed, I'm fighting for the club and do not have any intention to give up. This club has become very important to me.
"I'd ask the new owner for some stability and I'm waiting for the day this club gets some stability."
On the game, Grant refused to single out players for blame, with goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown culpable for the first goal when Steven Gerrard charged down his kick to let Fernando Torres slot home.
"Jamie is a good goalkeeper. I will not speak about mistakes because it is part of the game," he added.
"We started the game okay, we played how we wanted to play and then came the first goal and we lost our shape and they scored a second and third goal in seven minutes and the game was finished.
"We made mistakes after that and we were punished for it."
