NEW YORK - A US federal judge yesterday sentenced the reputed "Godfather" of Russian organised crime in the United States, who was convicted of extortion and marriage fraud, to 115 months in prison.

Vyacheslav Ivankov (56), the man federal authorities call one of the most powerful Russian mobsters in America, was convicted in July with three other Russians of conspiracy and attempting to extort $3.5 million from a Russian emigre investment firm.
