Two brothers of Galway murder victim, Ms Philomena Gillane, had assault charges against them adjourned at a sitting of Gort District Court yesterday. Mr Patrick and Mr Martin Gordon of Beechlawn, Caltra, Co Galway, face the charges arising from an incident at the home of their late sister's husband, Mr Patrick Gillane, and his brother, Mr Kevin Gillane.
Mr Patrick Gordon is charged with common assault on Mr Kevin Gillane at Glenbrack, Gort, on June 14th, 1995, while Mr Martin Gordon is charged with common assault on Mr Pat Gillane on the same occasion.
On the application of Insp Stiofan O Cualain, prosecuting, Judge Al O'Den agreed to adjourn the case against both defendants to the sitting of Gort Court on September 23rd.
