London - Gay activists yesterday staged a Remembrance Day ceremony by placing pink carnations at the Cenotaph memorial in central London in memory of British soldiers. The official war veterans' association condemned the gathering. Mr Peter Tatchell, a gay rights leader, told a crowd of about 200 it was important to recognise the contributions of homosexuals in the armed forces.
