The man's body was discovered by a couple who were walking in the area.
The body was removed to University College Hospital Galway and a post mortem ruled out any foul play.

Located close to the body was a black Aerodigi sports bag and Ray Ban glasses case.
Gardaí in Clifden are especially keen that guesthouses and hotels check their records as they wish to establish if anyone fitting the above description checked in but did not check out again during the period August to December.
Anyone with information should contact Clifden Garda Station on 095 22500 or any Garda Station.
