Gardaí are searching for two men who mugged a local on a clifftop walk near Bundoran, Co Donegal. The victim, aged 20, was attacked as he went along the path to the west of the seaside resort.
Gardaí said he was threatened, then viciously assaulted and forced to produce his wallet. Nearly €200 was stolen from him.
Garda Supt Leo McGinn said it was a “cowardly” attack at 3pm on Wednesday afternoon, the first of its kind this year in the popular holiday resort. The attackers were believed to have been visitors to the town.
Gardaí are searching for one man who had black hair and a brown hoodie. The other man had light-brown hair and a black jacket.
