Gardai in Dublin raided a house in the Ballyfermot-Clondalkin area yesterday as part of an international investigation into child pornography on the Internet.

The raid, by members of the domestic violence and sexual assault unit of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, was carried out as part of an international police operation targeting suspected paedophiles, the Garda press office said.

The operation, spearheaded by the Obscene Publications Unit of Greater Manchester Police, resulted in some computer equipment being seized, but no one was arrested.
