A garda was killed in Co Limerick when his car was in collision with a cattle truck. He was named as Garda Michael O'Connor (36), who lived at the Mall, Ballingarry, Co Limerick. He is survived by his wife, Martha, and children, Eilish (4) and Aoibhlinn (2).
The accident happened at 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday night near Lucey's Cross, Patricks well. The truck driver escaped injury.
