GARDAÍ WERE last night continuing to search in the west of Ireland for a gang who terrorised a female employee before escaping with about €6,000 from a rural post office.

The three-man gang struck in the small Co Roscommon village of Granlahan, near Ballinlough, at about 10am yesterday.

Gardaí are trying to establish if there is any link between this raid and one on a shop about 80kms away in Ballinasloe in Co Galway last Thursday.

On that occasion a gang of five men threatened staff and customers at Dolan’s supermarket at Kilgarve on the Athlone road.
