The Galway club which promoted the Irish Olympic boxer Francis Barrett looks set to get a proper home

The Galway club which promoted the Irish Olympic boxer Francis Barrett looks set to get a proper home. The condemned building it once occupied is to be refurbished at a cost of £50,000.

The 50 members of the Olympic club, who currently occupy a small house in the city's eastern suburbs, will return to their former clubhouse in Bohermore as soon as facilities improve.

Galway Corporation has approved funding for the Bohermore Community Hall Project, with further funding due from People in Need and a number of Government Departments.
