A Gaelscoil board of management in Nenagh, Co Tipperary, has written to the Taoiseach and the Tanaiste claiming that Mr Spring promised three months ago that Gaelscoil Aonach Urmhumhan would be the next school building project to go ahead once funding was available.
The board says that in 1995, when it had 150 pupils, the school was included in the Department of Education's school building plan. Last year, with 175 pupils, contractors were invited to apply for a place of a pretender hst. In 1997, with 200 plus pupils, is your present Government content to ignore its responsibilities?" the board asks.
The school is looking for the green light to build a £600,000 new school on a site it has obtained.
