The funeral will take place today of one of the country’s leading property developers who was found dead at his home in Galway last week.

The funeral mass for John O'Dolan will take place at 12 o'clock tomorrow at Church of the Christ the King in Salthill, Galway. He will be buried afterwards in Rahoon cemetery.

Mr O'Dolan, who was found dead at his home at Rusheen Bay on Friday morning, is survived by his wife Eileen, his daughters Fiona and Roisin and son Robert.

Mr O'Dolan has extensive business interests throughout the country and abroad, including the Island of Ireland, part of the unique World development off the coast of Dubai.

The father of three founded the auctioneering company Mullery, O'Dolan and Doyle which became one of the biggest in the west throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

He set up O'Dolan International to develop overseas properties and along with a number of other developers in 2007 bought the Island of Ireland, part of the unique World development four kilometres off the coast of Dubai.
