Racing: Frankel impressed work watchers on Wednesday morning ahead of his run in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. Henry Cecil's QIPCO 2000 Guineas winner was being put through his paces on the Newmarket gallops ahead of his run in Tuesday's Group One contest.

Leading Newmarket gallops reporter Tony Elves told At The Races: "He did his main work on the watered gallop and covered about seven furlongs under Shane Featherstonehaugh in company with his usual partner Bullet Train.

"There were no real question asked as he eased a couple of lengths clear. However Shane must have some very strong muscles because he was taking a very tight hold on the horse.

"Things have gone smooth as silk - there have been no blips. Let's hope that continues as he's one of the most exciting horses we've seen for many a year", Elves added.
