Community groups in Foxford, Co Mayo, have voted to retaliate against the decision by the Bank of Ireland to close down its sub-outlet in the town. A total of 25 local groups are to withdraw their accounts from the bank.

Mr Brendan Sherry, a member of the Foxford Community and District Group, said that the action was being taken in response to the manner in which the bank had treated local people.
