Four shot in punishment attacks in North

Four men were being treated in hospital today after being shot in paramilitary style punishment attacks in Bangor, Co Down.

Four men were being treated in hospital today after being shot in paramilitary style punishment attacks in Bangor, Co Down.

The RUC said the men were found lying in Ardgheean Gardens in the loyalist Kilcooley estate on the edge of the town and taken to the Ulster Hospital in east Belfast.

Earlier a man was taken to hospital after being shot in a similar shooting in north Belfast.

He was shot in both ankles and a wrist at Victoria Parade in the north of the city, said a police spokeswoman. His condition was not believed to be serious.
