Four people arrested in connection with the murder of John Carroll in the Coombe area of Dublin on Wednesday were released without charge this evening.

The woman (30) and three men in their twenties were arrested at Dublin Port shortly before 8pm on Friday night..

Father-of-three John Carroll was shot dead in Grumpy Jacks pub in the Coombe when a gunman wearing a motorcycle helmet burst into the bar last Wednesday night, singled out his victim and opened fire a number of times with a handgun.

The attacker made off on a waiting motorbike, along with an accomplice. There were up to 20 people in the pub at the time of the shooting.

Two men and a woman arrested yesterday in connection with the murder remain in custody tonight.
