Four held after weapons seized in Tallaght

Three men and a woman are being questioned following an arms seizure in Dublin.

Gardaí raided a house in the Ellensborough estate at Kiltipper in Tallaght and recovered items including a shotgun, ammunition, telescopic sights and gun components.

The four, who were in the house, were taken into custody late last night, a garda spokeswoman said.

They are aged between 19 and 28 and are being held under the Criminal Justice Act.

It is understood that the seizure was made after a tip-off from a local source and was in connection with local crime.

There was no indication that dissident Republicans were involved.
