Swiss police said yesterday no foul play was suspected in the death of an Irishman whose body was found in an airport parking lot on June 4th. Mr Barry Flannery (54), originally from Greystones, Co Wicklow, was found in the back seat of a car - not the boot as had been reported - with a gunshot wound to the head, police said. A handgun was found in the car.

He was discovered by an airport employee. Police say they believe the car may have been in the parking lot since around May 20th.

Mr Flannery was a former manager in the IDA and worked in the Stuttgart office until 1984. He left the IDA to become a financial consultant. He was living in Hergiswil in central Switzerland with his wife Anne and his daughters, Fiona (18) and Sheena (20).
