MADRID - A former leading judge and university professor was killed yesterday by an assassin who fired three shots at his head at point blank range.
Prof Francisco Tomas Valiente, former head of the Constitutional Court, was attacked in the Law Faculty of the Autonomous University just north of Madrid and died almost instantly.
