New Scotland coach Bertie Vogts is set to acquire the services of former Celtic manager Tommy Burns as part of his backroom staff.
Burns is the youth development officer at Parkhead, but Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed the Scottish Football Association had approached the club about the former midfielder.
Vogts, the former coach of Germany who succeeded Craig Brown in the Scotland job, wants his staff in place by the time they face France in Paris on March 27th. Burns has said he is keen to take up the offer.
Vogts is also waiting for Celtic's influential skipper, Paul Lambert, and Liverpool midfielder Gary McAllister to decide if they are willing to come out of international retirement.
