The Department of Justice has applied for planning permission for a new state-of-the-art forensic laboratory at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin.
The new laboratory will facilitate post-mortems and forensic examinations such as DNA and tissue testing. Prof John Harbison, the State Pathologist, will be moving there from his present offices and laboratory in Trinity College.
