Floods in Vietnam have left 13 people dead and five missing in the central part of the country.

Floods in Vietnam have left 13 people dead and five missing in the central part of the country.

The  floods and heavy rain submerged 61,616 houses in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces.

Vietnamese prime minister Nguyen Tan Dung requested "urgent" measures to deal with the
floods.

Mr Dung asked local authorities to provide food and to continue evacuating people out of dangerous areas.
