Ankara - Leaks from a gas canister caused a fire in an earthquake victims' tent city in north-western Turkey yesterday, adding to misery as the first snow fell on the region, the NTV news channel reported.

The fire left a baby in critical condition and burned some 10 tents in Duzce, epicentre of the November 12th earthquake, the channel said. The blaze started with the explosion of a small gas cannister used for cooking in one of the tents, which quickly spread to neighbouring tents and caused a series of other explosions.
