London - The traditional football game Subbuteo has been shown the red card by its makers. The game has been axed by its makers Hasbro because it is losing the fight against computer games.

A Hasbro spokesman told the Sun: "Production of Subbuteo will cease in January 2000." Subbuteo was invented by birdwatcher Peter Adolph in 1947 and was named after the Latin word for the Hobby Hawk.
