Fashanu died as result of hanging

London - A post-mortem examination showed footballer Justin Fashanu died as a result of hanging, Scotland Yard said yesterday. A spokesman from Scotland Yard said: "A post-mortem was carried out over the bank holiday weekend and the results, revealed today, indicate death by suspension. Further toxicology tests are being conducted which will not be released before the inquest." A date for Mr Fashanu's inquest has not yet been decided, he added.
