Eleven people, all believed to be Czechs, have been deported after being arrested by Garda immigration officers in Dundalk on Tuesday night.

They are believed to be members of one family and were travelling in a bus which was checked by the officers at Dromad on the Newry to Dundalk road.

They did not have the appropriate papers and were taken to Dundalk Garda station, before being taken to Mountjoy, where they were detained until they were deported.
