Dozens of people returned to their homes in a Co Tyrone village today after being forced out for the night by a security alert.

Army bomb disposal experts finally gave the all-clear to the people of Sion Mills shortly before 6.30am.

They had worked overnight on a suspect car abandoned in Seein Road in the village yesterday evening.

A police spokeswoman said the vehicle was taken away for further examination after the Army bomb team declared the area safe.
