A man in his mid 30s died yesterday morning in a fire in the Buckingham Street area of Dublin. Mr Matthew Garnet (50), with an address at nearby Pearse House, died after a fire broke out in a three storey building at about 8 a.m. It is believed he fell from an upstairs window in an attempt to escape he blaze.
Two women were in the house at the time and were taken to hospital. One was released but the other is seriously ill.
