Families Against Intimidation and Terror (FAIT) has blamed the IRA for a so-called punishment shooting in west Belfast on Saturday evening in which a 25-year-old man was wounded in the ankle. The incident happened in an alley off Glenalina Road in Ballymurphy at 7.40 p.m. Mr Vincent McKenna of FAIT claimed the IRA was responsible. "We expect the IRA and other terrorist organisations to increase this form of community-based gangster terrorism in order to maintain their control of large geographical areas of our city," he added.
