A man was in court yesterday after bomb-making materials were found at a housing estate at Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, last weekend. Mr Derek Chambers (32), of Castlemara Drive, Carrickfergus, was accused of having materials to make pipe bombs and having an improvised explosive device. A detective told Belfast Magistrates Court that when Mr Chambers was charged he replied: "Not guilty." He was remanded in custody to the Maze Court on July 29th.
