Army bomb disposal teams have today dealt with two viable explosive devices in Dublin this morning.

The first device was found at Galtee More, Drimnagh Road after it detonated on a footpath at about 3.40am.

An Army bomb disposal team carried out an analysis of the device before handing over the remains to gardaí for their investigations. The scene was declared safe at 4.15am.

The Defence Forces then received a second request to deploy a team to Bernard Curtis House on Bluebell Rd, Dublin 12 a short time later.

The team arrived on scene at 4.20am and made safe a viable explosive device. The scene was declared safe at 5.20am.

This was the 50th call out for bomb disposal teams so far this year.
