Dublin - The EU is threatening further sanctions against Nigeria if elections there fail to produce a return to democracy before next October, writes Paul Cullen. A meeting of EU development ministers in Brussels at the weekend expressed concern at human rights violations in Nigeria, in particular the detention of political prisoners.
