Extradition proceedings involving an English man wanted in Britain in connection with a murder in Birmingham have been adjourned at the High Court.

When the case of Mr Stefan Edward Simmonds (38), also known as Stefan Edwards Simmonds and Stefan Edward Hood, came before Mr Justice Quirke, he remanded Mr Simmonds in custody and listed the case for mention on March 11th.

Mr Kieran Kelly, for Mr Simmonds, said he would be making a bail application on March 10th.

A solicitor representing the Attorney General said the State was anxious to know whether Mr Simmonds was contesting or consenting to his extradition. Mr Kelly said he required time to take full instructions from his client in that regard.
