An ambulance crew was attacked and a bungalow set on fire in disturbances in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, on Thursday night. The incident happened after the crew answered an emergency call in the Kilmacormick estate.

When the ambulance arrived at the house around 10.30 p.m. to treat a man with head injuries, it was attacked, the RUC said. The crew escaped injury but feared for their lives, residents said.

The RUC was called to restore order. But later at midnight the house was set ablaze. A man and a woman were arrested in connection with the incident.
