South African Ernie Els played pressure golf to win the European Tour co-sanctioned Heineken Classic by one shot at Royal Melbourne today.
The world number two and defending champion came from three shots behind heading into the final round to card a seven-under 65 for a 72-hole total of 15-under 273.
Els beat Australian Peter Lonard, who missed a three-metre putt on the last hole to force a playoff. England's Nick Faldo finished joint second with Lonard.
It was the South African's third win in his last four tournaments this year.
