Atmosphere: Do you really need to ask? What looked like the biggest crowd of the weekend gave the re-united Pulp a welcome usually only extended to a day off or a sunny summer's day.

High: Do you really need to ask (take two)?

Pulp were ideal Picnic headliners for a number of reasons. You have the original awkward hipster Jarvis Cocker. You have some tunes from the 90s which have more than stood the test of time - especially Common People, which Cocker prefaced by saying that this could be the last time they ever play it live.

You have a brilliant scene-setting stageshow with that green laser teasing the crowd with various come-ons. And you’ve got a band who know how to put the oomph into a big field. It’s a main stage festival bingo full house, especially when it’s the last show on the reunion tour.

Quote: "I can't believe I'll never hear them do Common People again." - a punter in tears in the field

Verdict: They'll be back, you know they will.
