The shootings happened in two places and the victims included an 11-year-old. Another person was wounded.

Copley Township police chief Michael Mier said one person shot five people dead and then two more were killed nearby before police killed the shooter.

He gave no more details, and did not say how the shooter and victims were related or what led to the argument. Copley Township is a town of about 14,000 people outside the city of Akron in northeast Ohio.
