More parents and students have contacted Exam Times to express anger with Wednesday's higher-level applied maths paper in the Leaving. They complained about lack of time, as well as difficulties with questions. A student summed it up as "absolutely brutal".
A mother said her daughter found the questions difficult but could have achieved an A1 if she'd had an additional half-hour. A student hoping for an A1 - he got 91 per cent in his mock exams, he said - found the paper "really devastating".
