Grandparents' survey
Are you a grandparent whose child has gone through a divorce or separation in the past five years? If so, researchers at the Social Policy and Ageing Research Centre at Trinity College Dublin would like to talk to you about your subsequent relationship with your child and your grandchildren.
Interviews will last approximately one hour and can take place at a time and location of your choice, and each participant will receive a €20 gift voucher. All information is confidential and anonymity is guaranteed. Lunchtime Lecture in the Hunt Museum

Jack Lynch Conference at UCC
The Department of History at UCC is holding a conference - "Jack Lynch: Politics and Sport, Personality and Leadership" - on Friday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th.

eTwinning for Schools
eTwinning Weeks 2008 are being organised to encourage schools and teachers to get involved in eTwinning this autumn. For the month of October, special events, activities and prizes are planned across Europe.
eTwinning is a simple and straightforward way of finding a partner school in the rest of Europe to work together on a range of activities, using information and communication technologies (ICT).

Cancer Biology Mini-Symposium at UCC
A mini-symposium hosted by the UCC Cancer Biology community is being held to mark the launch of the new PhD scholars' programme in cancer biology at UCC on Friday, October 3rd in the Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, G02 at 2.30pm. The keynote address will be given by Prof Scott Lowe, deputy director of the Cancer Center at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, New York. Admission is free and all are welcome.
DIT Student Opera
The students of the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama present Mozart's classic opera The Magic Flute. The show opens on Friday, October 3rd, in the Gleeson Theatre in DIT Kevin Street, and will run until Saturday 11th. Shows start at 7.30pm. Tel: 0818-205205 for tickets. TCD Conference on Education Reform
A group of teachers and educational philosophers known as the PER Group will hold a one-day conference at Trinity College Dublin on Saturday, October 25th. Speakers will include the well-known educationalist Prof Richard Whitfield, formerly Dean of Social Sciences at Aston University and Prof Patrick Keeney from Kelowna in Canada. PER is an acronym for Philosophy for Educational Reform.
