The Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre (APC) "Bringing Science to Society events" in association with the Gastrointestinal Unit, St Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin continue this evening with an introduction and overview of recent progress relating to Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

The forum takes place from 6.30pm to 8pm in the lecture hall, Education and Research Centre, St Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin 4. Patients, families, friends and those interested are welcome. Admission is free.

University of Limerick Careers Fair

The UL careers fair takes place in the University Sports Arena tomorrow from noon to 4pm. Attracting 100 organisations, representing all sectors of employment, this is an open event with an expected attendance of over 2,000 students who are interested in making contact with leading graduate employers.

National Alzheimer Hero Day Friday, October 20th is National Alzheimer Hero Day and the Alzheimer Society of Ireland is piloting a new initiative, the Write-to-Remember programme, to mark the event.

The programme offers a fun way for primary schoolchildren to develop their writing skills and learn a little more about Alzheimer disease and other dementias. Write-to-Remember has been developed with the current needs of primary school curriculum in mind.

Music Technology at Dundalk IT Open Evening and Day

Dundalk Institute of Technology's open evening and day will take place on Thursday, October 19th from 7pm to 9pm and Friday, October 20th from 10am to 3pm in the institute's Multi-Purpose Centre. If you are interested in finding out more about music and music technology at DKIT it will provide an opportunity to talk to staff and current students and learn about taught programmes on offer and to view the institute's facilities.
