Music in the Classroom with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra

Music in the ClassroomListen to or download the songs for The Irish Times/RTÉ the Music in the Classroom programme with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra below. The songs will help you singalong and understand what is coming up in the concert.

The Songs for Children medley includes Old Mcdonald, Yankee Doodle and She'll be Comin' round the Mountain. Film music comes to life with our Wizard of Oz medley and get ready to lift the rafters of the National Concert Hall with Katy Perry's Roar and One Direction's What Makes You Beautiful.

The Phantom Regiment (Anderson) is a little crazy and very funny as our two very lost and very dead soldiers try to find their regiment; soloists Emmanuel Lawler and Peter Sweeney will provide the fun onstage at the concert.

The classic tale of Beauty and The Beast from Ravel's beautiful Mother Goose Suite is wonderfully portrayed and danced by the Catherine Casey Ballet School. The Mazurka, from the ballet Coppelia, will have everyone on their feet with wild audience participation and finally in this packed programme we meet the virtouso composer and violinist Mr. Brahms and his amazing dancing bear in the Hungarian Dance No. 5.

Here are the dance moves your class can learn for when you sing along to Roar and What Makes You Beautiful.
