The University of Limerick has a new one-year certificate course in women's studies starting in October. Lectures are held two evenings per week over two 13-week terms. The course is open to all and applications are particularly welcome from mature students and those wishing to get on the third-level ladder. Ideally, potential students should have completed second-level studies, but those who do not meet this requirement are still encouraged to apply. The course content is broad, covering areas such as women and technology, women in history and women in education. Application forms are available from the Department of Government and Society at the University of Limerick, telephone (061) 202280 or e-mail a request to anne.marie.odonnell@ul.ie. For queries about the course contact Dr Carmen Kuhling on (061) 202 396 or e-mail Carmen.Kuhling@ul.ie
